Important Changes to Commercial Gas Safety Regulations in Ireland
From 1 September 2026, new requirements apply to non-domestic gas works in Ireland.
Under Statutory Instrument No. 106/2026, non-domestic gas works must now be carried out by a Registered Gas Installer (RGI) appropriately registered for this category of work.
The changes affect commercial and industrial premises across Ireland, including hotels, restaurants, offices, schools, hospitals and retail environments, and reinforce the importance of ensuring gas installations are designed, installed and maintained to the appropriate standards.
